It’s Monday morning and the ref will soon be banging the mat on Bryan Storkel and Oscar-winner Daniel Junge’s campaign for “Fight Church.”
The documentary features several pastors who promote mixed martial arts competition as an expression of faith in Jesus Christ.
“But wasn’t that Bethlehem-born guy a bit of a peacenik?” you ask. Maybe so, but these reverends truly believe in putting the macho in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. There are about 24 hours left to raise $3000.
It’s hardly a leap of faith, considering Junge recently shared the Academy Award for doc short “Saving Face” and Storkel has done well on the film-fest circuit with his doc about poker-playing believers, “Holy Rollers: The True Story of Card Counting Christians.”
